SOMETHING NEW FOR YOU

I finally got around to taking some product shots for you all to see! This should give you an idea of the wide variety of merchandise that we have in stock. But there are still soooo many other items for sale too, did I mention that we have about 60 artists now selling with us? It's unbelievable!

It's inspiring how many talented and creative people are in the area, and we are so happy to be able to showcase it.

So take a look (and please disregard some of the bad lighting....thanks :)

These are stickers from Ali Osborn, all original and completely unique:

A slim selection of Tiffany in the Trees wallets. Here is a passport holder, plus two bill-folds. We have a bunch more fabric selections, plus id holders and a couple of totes in the shop. One of her totes even has a chopstick pocket with chopsticks included!

Mardou on Sunday earrings and necklaces:

Fruit and Sugar undies and vintage clutch with her original bird graphic silkscreened on:

Cara Taylor handbags and clutches, which are all made from recycled plastic bags. Can you believe that? These come in a huge variety of sizes and colors, we even have small coin purses too!

Baby E Crafts hair-ties all covered in amazing fabric and are in three different sizes. And don't forget the button rings (below) that have an elastic band to fit just about any finger!

Speaking of buttons we have a lovely collection of Atomsatwork items; from earrings, necklaces, barrettes, and below you'll see wine rings. So now none of your guests will wonder which glass is theirs! How cool is that.

THE LOCAL BUZZ

The lovely Emily Hughes wrote an inspiring article about Dandie in the Underworld in the Local Buzz. She interviewed us about two weeks ago and the Buzz came out this past week. Please take a few minutes to read it here or get your very own copy on the street, where you can also see the photo that Maya Krinsky took in print!

SIDEWALK SALE WEEK

Starting tomorrow, the annual sidewalk sale starts in Northampton. There will be lots of people roaming and shopping. We need to get those people down the D.I.T.U. alley, now don't we! So I'm hoping all of you will keep telling your friends and direct them our way. Maybe even some of you would be up to handing out or hanging up fliers for us? If so, let us know and we'll give you a pile.
Thanks!

BAGS AND BAGS

Did you say bags? Yes, bags. We are fully stocked with a wide-variety of them from many different crafters. Our newest ones are from the wonderful Kristen Beam. She wrote a very lovely post about the shop here on her own blog, where you can see her products for sale plus a couple of nice photos of things she bought!

Here they are:

(note: the navy blue one is sold and was my personal favorite. I just didn't snatch it up fast enough!)

They have really nice pockets inside that you'll only be able see in person!

Another new artist, is Jessica Montalino who brought us some very cute totes. Did i ever tell you all how much i love polka dots?

BLOG MENTIONS

I decided to do a google search on Dandie in the Underworld and couldn't believe how many mentions the shop has gotten! So i wanted to use this post to thank everyone that has mentioned us on their own blog. This kind of advertising is really a wonderful way to spread the word about the shop. It also really emphasizes one of the main goals of the shop, which is to have it be a community driven place.

Many people that have come into the shop have said things like "oh i'm friends with so and so who sell stuff here" or "people have been talking about this around town." It's amazing what word of mouth can do. So, let's keep the word spreading.....

Here are links to the lovely people who have mentioned us.

Our first official press, from Kelsey Flynn.

The adorable Tiffany in the Trees....you can even see a preview of her stuff that is for sale at the shop here.

A mention from Fridgequeen, see the first paragraph. This is also a place where I posted about looking for artists, so all of you should keep this newsletter in mind. It's a great networking resource.

Chowflap
, aka dew at dandie in the underworld gives us a mention with pics of her awesome necklaces for sale.

The crafty, Kelsey from thoughts (and girly things) mentions us several times. You can also see her sleep masks here. Sorry all of the orange flower ones are gone (me being one of the owners), but come soon before they're all gone!

Cherry Winters put a link on her myspace account, she makes the totally cool stuffed elephants, octupi, owls, and manatees.

Then I found the link that my friend, Kim posted about me that also mentions the shop. It's a small survey type thing that she did on me.

Tian listed on her site as a place to shop. yay!

Handmade Menagerie
who is a new-comer to the shop and she also shows the very cute and oh so cool baby shirts that we have for sale.

Big cheese crafts also mentions us on her myspace account. We have many of her crocheted goodies in the shop.

Oh and not to forget the many times I mentioned the shop on my own personal blog, bikes and birds. I created this blog almost as a way to stop talking about it on my own blog.

p.s. I just noticed another one on the Urban-Farmgirl blog, who is our newest artist!

Thanks everyone!

FIRST POST EVER

Here we go, the first post for this new blog! I'm still trying to figure out the fine details for the look of this blog. But it's set up enough to have a post now i think.

So Dandie in the Underworld is officially open for business! Our hours are thurs-sun, noon-10. But we are contemplating closing around 8 on Sundays.

I'm planning on this being a place to update everyone on new things happening at the shop. Hopefully I'll have some product shots soon and then all of you can see the new products we've been getting in!

We do have a photo shoot scheduled for this evening, where my very talented friend, Maya, will be taking pics. Also, tonight is arts night out in Northampton so I hope many of you will be roaming the streets checking out the galleries. We hope to be a part of the walk, even if it is in an unofficial way.
